Avoid Bail Bond Scams

When someone you love is arrested, scammers count on panic. Pause, verify the arrest yourself, then pay only through Anytime Bail Bonding’s published phone number, an office visit, or Simply Bail.

How we collect payment

We Will Never Ask You to Pay This Way

Anytime Bail Bonding will never ask you to send a bail payment through a personal app account or an irreversible “gift” method. If someone does, hang up and call us from this website.

Never pay with

  • Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle
  • Gift cards (Apple, Google Play, Target, and others)
  • Bitcoin or any cryptocurrency
  • A payment-app account that belongs to an individual

Official ways to pay

The safest rule

Pause, Verify Independently, Then Pay

Never let the person asking for money control how you check the story. Caller ID can be spoofed. If you cannot confirm the arrest and the bond with the jail, do not send money.

  1. 01

    Hang up

End the unexpected call or text. Do not stay on the line while you “verify,” and do not call a number the other person just gave you.

  2. 02

Confirm the arrest with the jail

Look up the jail or sheriff’s official website yourself. Call the published number and confirm the defendant, the facility, the bond amount, bond status, and any holds.

  3. 03

Call Anytime Bail Bonding from this site

Use 1-866-545-BAIL or an office number listed on our locations page. We will explain the premium, send written terms, and take payment through an official channel.

Red flags

Warning Signs of a Bail Bond Scam

  • Extreme urgency or threats if you do not pay immediately
  • Instructions to keep the arrest a secret from family
  • A supposed relative, lawyer, officer, or bondsman calling unexpectedly
  • Refusal to let you call the jail, the family, or our published office number
  • Payment demanded through gift cards, Bitcoin, a cash app, or a courier
  • Requests for passwords, remote computer access, or unnecessary personal information
  • A last-minute change to the payment recipient or the amount

Before you pay

Get Written Terms

Do not sign blank documents or rely only on a verbal promise. You should receive:

  • The company’s legal name, address, and telephone number
  • The defendant’s name, jail, and confirmed bond amount
  • The premium and payment schedule
  • Every additional charge
  • Collateral requirements and return conditions, if any
  • Refund and cancellation terms
  • Co-signer responsibilities
  • A completed agreement and an immediate receipt

If You Already Paid a Scammer
